Represent a legitimate organization or community effort
You must be authorized to submit the opportunity. Eligible groups include nonprofits, parishes, schools, libraries, public programs, neighborhood groups, and established community initiatives.
These guidelines help organizations create useful listings and help Community Volunteer Services keep the directory safe, accurate, and genuinely focused on community service.
Every submission is reviewed before publication. Approval confirms that a listing fits the directory; it is not an endorsement or certification of the organization.
Give volunteers enough information to decide whether the opportunity fits their interests, availability, and circumstances.

Explain the work volunteers will perform and who benefits. Paid jobs, sales recruitment, lead generation, political campaigning, and commercial promotions do not belong in the directory.
“Saturday food sorting volunteers” is more useful than “Volunteers needed.” Avoid exaggerated claims, excessive capitalization, and promotional slogans.
Provide the location or service area, schedule, expected commitment, minimum age, accessibility information, required skills, training, transportation, and application steps when they apply.
Do not publish private home addresses, medical information, background-check data, information about minors, passwords, or confidential records. Use an organization-controlled application link whenever possible.
Submit only opportunities that are active or scheduled. Contact Community Volunteer Services when dates, requirements, links, or availability change, or when a listing should be removed.
We may edit formatting, request clarification, decline a submission, or remove a listing. Organizations can request corrections through the contact page.
